Sixty pages in. I understand driving a point home. But if an author really needs almost ten pages just to tell me that a storm is coming they are simply over reaching and trying too hard.

Another problem is that there is way too much rambling and aimless self reflective thought with the main character. It does not even make much sense or have a point. I suspect that at some point it might lead somewhere but I am not interested enough to find out.

I am not too into the talking cat either. Too Sabrina the Teenage Witch for me. Plus the cat emphasizes the main character's directionless thought meandering by having to startle her out of her reverie at least two or three times in as many pages.

I thought about making myself finish this. But sixty pages in, it has already been stated that the main character dislikes heroes, adventure, excitement, love, etc. In other words she is boring and not very likable. This book is over 600 pages long. I will move on to other things.

    Abby the Witch

A delightful, often humorous, book about a novice young witch, her cat named Charlie, and a young man who together and accidentally are projected 28 years back in time.

The story transcends tons of errors that should not have made it past even a casual editing by a literate friend. Since this seems to be targeting the youth audience, it is even more important that proper spelling and usage are presented to those young minds.

But as I said, the story trumps the spelling and usage. I will recommend this to my young granddaughter, Miss Madison. I'd also suggest it to the boys; I think they'd enjoy it, but I doubt they'll find the title macho enough.

    Great story line.

Even with the open ending were one could use their imagination over and over to create various endings, Ms. Bell could use these same characters in other stories. Charlie for instance could be a main character. I love his personality. He tries to cause mischief, but his conscious gets te better of him.

Presuming European spelling was used, I believe most of the typos should have been corrected.

I look forward to reading more of Ms. Bell's works.

    DVD

Good book, abrupt ending. Would reccomend reading for all ages. Spelling, grammer and syntax errors though, keep in mind.

    Strange but nice

That title describes both Abby and the book. This story does not fit neatly into any class description (romance, paranormal, or fantasy) but I found myself both liking and rooting for Abby before long. Definitely a good read.
