Refreshing and definitely a must read for anyone interested in Abraham Lincoln.

I absolutely loved this book (and wouldn't lend it out until I saw that I could have it on my Nook also) Unlike other Lincoln biographies this one is written in more of a vignette style. It is very refreshing and easy to read. I liked the way that Joe Wheeler blended his narrative with direct quotes. Many of the quotes are very powerful and difficult to forget. I appreciated that Mr. Wheeler was honest about his agenda in writing the book-it is a book that focuses on the faith of Abraham Lincoln and how that influenced him during different eras of his life. Mr. Wheeler was not afraid to address the times in Lincoln's life when he pushed away his faith, nor was he afraid to point out his return to faith in the latter years of his life. I liked his balance and his ability to back up most of his opinions with actual quotes. As with all history there is always some room for opinions to vary in some areas.
