I have read all of Mimi Jean Pamfiloff books and this was the least interesting that I have read. First it was long enough and I was sure if it wasn't just a mixture of the other ones. I would like to know what the ending are on all of the previous books. I will still buy of of her books because I know that after I read the first book that she can product some good books to read.

this book started out a little confusing, but it got better and had some funny parts in it. what really got me steaming MAD was that as i was really getting in it STOP! the book has 100-some pages and only 69 was the story!! it didnt even finish it had a TO BE CONTINUE. it just really ticked me off, other then the lack of an ending and it being soooooo short it wasnt bad i even like the story line. I am a fan of the Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and her Accidentally serie

I am a fan of the Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and her Accidentally series. I have really enjoyed each one and how she has envisioned the gods. For me this novella was a look warm  offering.  I think novellas that are part of a series are hard to carry off.  The author is trying to pack in everything that they bring to the fuller volumes in a much shorter story and that is hard to do.  How are you going to pull off a couple meeting and falling in love and wrapping it all up in a neat ending in 100 pages or less and make it believable?  That is where I think this book suffered...

First of all, the time frame of the book is in less than a 24 hour period.  I just could not buy into their romance so quickly. Their conversations were shallow so I did not feel there was true connection between them. There was the plot device of Chaam being able to share visions of his life experiences with Maggie, but even with that I still felt their connection was shallow.  It is not as though Maggie could do the same.

The dialogue to zany a bit too far, it almost felt forced and at times inappropriate given the situation. I usually love the zany dialogue of Ms. Pamfiloff's characters.  Maybe I'm not in the mood for zany, but in this book it did not help to make Maggie a three dimensional character, for me it just made her a bit annoying.

I did enjoy the look back on Chaam's story.  As a follower of the series I've wondered what happened to make him decide to join the dark side. It nice to know that there is hope for him.  The reveal of Cimil's role in this turn of events was very interesting.  Clearly this is setting up to a happy ending turn out for all involved.  The cliff hanger was expected as all the stories in the series are merely pieces of the over arching plot line.

If you're a fan of the series I would definitely recommend this book.
