Some of the best acoustic rock I have ever heard

First Disk - The "Acoustic" Disk. I just wish that all of the songs were acoustic. It starts with "Round Here" with just Adam and Dan on Guitar. Simple yet powerful. Next is "Have you seen me lately" which wasn't that great to me but it hits close to Adam. The other songs are great. The acoustic version of "Angels of the Silence", "Catapault", and "Mr.Jones" are great adding different instruments such as accordion and banjo and "Ghost Train" was amazing. But some songs such as "Im Not Sleeping" and "Anna Begins" ( with its new arrangements ) I just didn't get. 2nd Disk - More rocking and I farely enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the new louder version of "Murder of One".

    Simply amazing

With passionate reworking of electric songs into acoustic versions, Counting Crows put forth some stellar performances. This album falls none short of the quality and emotion of those performances.

Raw talent appears on live performances

This two disc set is my favorite of all the counting crows pieces. It seems that the music takes on it's own life when performed live...the improv on vocals continues to amaze me every time I hear "round here" on disc 2. Pure music made of pure emotion.

A dedicated Counting Crows fan speaks out!

Incredible. The raw, sweeping emotion, the completely redone songs, the old favorites with new lyrics and entirely new verses. I love this album. I especially love the alternate endings to both Rain Kings, and the extra three minutes or so inserted flawlessly in the middle of Round Here. Counting Crows have always been primarily a live band, and they show their proficiency at rocking a concert hall or a small room equally well.

    Rethinking the Crows

Although I'm a huge fan of August and Everything After, this CD made me appreciate the Counting Crows more than ever. The first disc in particular is excellent; live versions of the songs add a depth even beyond their previous incarnations.
