    Adventurous & Friendship Related

Addie¿s Dakota Winter by Laurie Lawlor The book is about a ten-year-old girl and her family who settled in Dakota a long time ago. She gets caught in a blizzard. She lies and the bullies (the Connolly Brothers) are going to break Tilla¿s arms. The girl¿s name is Addie. She has a doll that she carries around with her wherever she goes. Addie admits she is a coward and a liar. Addie is jealous of Tilla because Tilla gets all the attention. The Connolly Brothers are big, mean and rough. They throw stones at people and break people's arms. Everyone hates the Connolly Brothers. Mrs.Brophy (the teacher) whipped them. The Connolly Brothers never went to school again. I think middle schoolers will love this book as much as I did. It is jam packed with an adventurous story. Kids that love adventurous stories will love this book. Those who like books about friendship will like it, too. Everyone should love this adventurous book about friendship. There are other books by this author, you might like Addie Across the Prairie. It tells about the first months Addie has as a Dakota pioneer.
