'Parenting yourself' to be the grown-up you can be!
The work of these authors is fantastic. No matter what kind of home situation you grew up in, this book gives you the knowledge and insight to become a responsible, achieving adult. It teaches you not only what to do about your particular problem, but also gives direct and specific advise about how to handle your conflicted emotions as you grow. (Don't get frozen, don't get sullen, don't use your feelings destructively; use them in ways that bolster your psychological strength as you grow.) Many people feel handicapped by the terrible parenting they had as children. The good news is that you don't have to live in that trap. You can grow to understand social situations, human motivations, and become an adult who really makes the world work better for everyone.
