I bought this book knowing full well the content would be excellent and detailed in it's relevance to American Decline. I was not disappointed. This book is a page-turning eye-opener for all who have somehow sleep walked throughout the past few decades. If you want to know truths about American decay and decline I suggest anyone with an open mind buy this book, read it, and wake up to the stark reality laid out by its author Mark Steyn. It is one of those books you can put on the shelf next to the best of the best in your collection. I would recommend it to anyone who has the objectivity to read into the subtle warning therein. I would stake my Honor on the validity of the facts and truths of this book. SFC Daniel L. Diaz, USA, ret.

Steyn is not as humorous and witty as book cover reviewers would have you believe. He uses an age old technique of laying the foundation for his eventual rant with anecdotes about social, political and economic observations and situations which have you nodding in agreement. Then he lays out his conservative ipso facto: if you agree with Point A and B, then you must agree with the root cause of C.

He is an example of why politics has gone beyond annoying to downright scary.
