An Exciting Read
After Dark starts a little slow as it pants the scene, but quickly gains pace and builds excitement as the events quickly unfold. The story deals with some situations that could be considered mature and also includes some strong violence, so keep that in mind when deciding if you would allow younger readers to read this story.
I definitely recommend this story to anyone looking for a quick and exciting read to pass some time, perhaps at a doctor's office, or waiting for food to cook, whatever suits your time needs.

Short book!
Eight pages?! I downloaded this twice - all I got were eight pages! Don't waste your time with this.

Warning: This is a SHORT story, not a "book"
Although I enjoyed what little bit of the story there was, this was more like a free sample than a free book. Irritating! Don't waste your time. It left me feeling like I had been cheated out of a good story since THERE IS NO BOOK! Ugh.

Preview
Apparently, this is just a free preview. It isn't the entire ebook. The entry is misleading in the bookstore.
This seems to start out as a good story. It would be better if there was an actual ebook to read, though.66 out of 73 people found this review helpful.

Considered Book at 9 Pages
I downloaded this book and was just getting into the characters and the possibilities of a good book, when it ended. This is not a good way to get the author's name associated with an ebook or otherwise! I was excited about the possibility of the romance and the protectiveness of the wolf when the book stopped. Distressed.

An Exciting Read
At only 9 pages, After Dark is a short, quick read with an underlying story that you've probably heard to some extent before. The story was well written, and descriptive. The quick introduction set the scene very well, and provided a good mental image that set the stage for the coming events.

Don't waste your time since not a complete book.
Good thing this is free since there are only 7 pages depending on the font size. It ends abruptly keeping you in suspence. I don't think this is the whole book though. I think it would be a good book if completed.

What a joke...
Why is this listed as a free book? I received 8 pages. Its a free preview, nothing more. I could have gotten this without being annoyed by the false hype of it being a free book. I should have read other reviews before I wasted my time.
What I read was good though and I would have liked to have read the whole thing.9 out of 9 people found this review helpful.

Ick
This book is only 7 pages. The writing is poor and the story cliche. Stupid lady jogs at night in a dangerous area of town, men try to rape her and werewolf saves the day. Woo hoo, I can hardly contain my excitement /sarcasm.
On the positive side, the cover is very nice.5 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

O. k. for free
I've read plenty of short stories in my time, some being quite good. So a nine page story is not something that I would necessarily ignore. This is why I chose to download this short story. While I admit that I am not in any way a literary scholar, commentator, or someone of that nature, I do know a little something about fictional stories. I am of the opinion that this tale could have been quite brilliant had the author remembered two of my favorite rules. Rule number 1, if you are going to have a damsel in distress, at least, make me like her. The author could have taken a couple of sentences to set the stage for her abduction. Why was she out there by herself, late at night? Does she not know that bad guys hang out around parks at night? At least, if I had a vested interest in her welfare, I would be rooting for the hero to save her. In fact, I would be ready to jump in and save her myself. Rule number 2; a very major one that might give away the story.. however, let me just say that if you break this one, your audience might just say..... Why get involved? I loved the book cover. The tag line really enticed me.. but somewhere between the tag line and the ending.. i just couldn't get involved with the characters. So, long story short, in tribute to the werewolf, I give this a "waning crescent moon"

not an ebook only a sample
Why would B&N call this a free ebook? Just to irritate customers?

Not horrible, but not great either.
I'm glad it was a free ebook, because I would have been returning it otherwise. As it is, I'm already deleting it from my library. I liked the charactor, but I felt that the author could have done so much more with him. There just wasn't enough depth for my taste. I will however be willing to read more or Bryan Lee's work, but probably not for purchase.

20 page Short
Thats all, even Stephen King writes short stories. Youll never get a free book thats 500pgs unless its a dictonary.

Good
I liked this and wish there was more! It never said the hero wasa wolf but you could tell by the cover. It would be cool if this were elongated to a novel and the wolf were a vigilante.
