    Burning Hot Story!

Originally posted at: ***** Looking for some burning hot sex along with your mystery? Can't resist a gorgeous alpha male on a motorcycle? Look no further than After the Fire - a sexy paranormal with a whodunit thrown in.

Shar is more than steamed when she finds out her almost fiancé has been lying to her all along. Not only has he been cheating on her, but he also knew she was "kin" - the term this book uses for a witch. Shar can make fire, so when she gets drunk at the kin bar, Mystic, which then burns to the ground, she's a suspect in the arson. There's only one person she trusts to help her - old friend (and ultimate hottie), Trajan.

Soon sparks are flying between them, feeding a long-denied attraction. When Trajan finds out Shar is no longer in a committed relationship, all bets are off between them and he takes what he want. Let me say here that Ms. DeRicci writes some of the hottest love scenes I've read. Though the sex is quite vanilla (nothing really kinky involved here), it's hot enough to need a cold shower and a fan on high to cool off after. An amazingly skilled author, her descriptions are exactly right and clear - and not just the sex scenes. She does a wonderful job plopping us right into the story. None of the usual distractions here: no head-hopping, no telling me what the characters are thinking or feeling. I was completely immersed in this story (and fell head over heels for Trajan).

The only weak spot for me was the mystery. Not that I knew "whodunit" - that wasn't the issue. My issue was that it seemed as though, right at the point where it should have been most exciting it just... ended. It didn't ruin the book for me, far from it, but it was a bit of a letdown.

Still, in the long run, it really didn't matter because the romance was solid and tugged my heartstrings, the sex was hot and the ending happy. In an erotic romance, what more could you ask for? I'm looking forward to the next Granier Falls book, Ms. DeRicci... bring it on!
