AGAINST THE ODDS - VOUME 7 - RAINES OF WIND CANYON SERIES

For those of you who have not read the FIRST SIX VOLUMES in Kat Martin's - "RAINES OF WIND CANYON SERIES", this is a must book to be read and I believe the best VOLUME in this SERIES to date.

However, AGAINST THE EDGE, VOLUME 8 won't be released until April 27, 2013 with VOLUME 9 then coming out on August 27, 2013 and who knows what Kat will put into each of these VOLUMES to keep you waiting for the next VOLUME to be released!!

It's not absolutely necessary to have read VOLUMES 1 - 6; but, you would understand all the players in this novel if you had read them prior to reading her just released novel in this SERIES, which is an absolute must read for your winter reading!

This is Book #7 of the series. Each book is better than the previous book. Characters are "real" and there is romance, excitement and overall satisfaction in Ms. Martin's books. She has definitely hit the top of her talent. Since reading all of this series, I have gone back to earlier books & working to read all of her books.
I can't wait until the next book comes out.

    4 STARS
Against the odds keeps you guessing right to the end who is trying to kill Alex and Sabrina. The action and drama are nonstop. Thier a few love scenes that I skipped over.
Sabrina Eckhart hired Alex Justice former Navy pilot now P.I. to fly her out to the property she inheirited and help her find the mine her Uncle found.
On thier way out to the deseret to find the property the helicoptor they rented started to have problems. Alex used all his skills to get them down without killing themselves. When they got down the copter got fire.
Sabrina had sprained ankle and concussion. Alex had bruised rib. They were lucky. After a couple of days they started to walk out. They were found and flown out of the deseret. On thier way in they found the mine.
Sabrina and Alex were attracted to each other. After they got back they slept together and then Sabrina paniced. She did not want to ruin thier friendship. Plus her best friend was married now to Alex's friend and boss Jake.
Then Sabrina was in a car accident when her steering gave out she almost got hit by semi truck. Instead with quick thinking she avoided the semi and got rear ended instead.
The mine her Uncle discovered before he died was actually worth a lot. A few days before her Uncle's death he left everything to her instead of his children because of the way they treated him.
So was someone trying to kill Sabrina because they knew them mine was rich or was thier a different reason.
The women are strong willed, they are likeable. A lot of the men who work with Alex are hot and brave. They are willing to help each other anyway they can.
I have read a few books in this series The Raines of Wind Canyon of books and look forward to reading the rest of them.

She does it again keeps me reading tp reach the end

Loved this as much as the others. Love the continuation of characters. Great drama and romance. Would rather read this writer than some I read years ago. She has not fallen into the habit of so many other writers that have no story only sex and filthy language . She can write.

When Sabrina inherits land with a possible gold mine hidden on it, from her Uncle, she decides to hire the best private investigator around. Alex may be amazingly good looking, he was also full of himself and known for having problems with commitment. That's fine with Sabrina who is facing some financial difficulties and only needs Alex's investigative talents. At least that's what she keeps telling herself. From the start Alex decided on a hands-off attitude where Sabrina was concerned. She was a friend of his best friends wife and the kind of woman that wanted a "forever"...not what he was looking for. Then things started happening. Sabrina is not use to having bad luck, but when mysterious accidents keep happening Sabrina starts listening to Alex who believes someone is trying to kill her. To make things worse, the killers could be members of her family. Sabrina trust Alex with her life...but can she trust him with her heart?
With hints tossed throughout the book, Kat Martin keeps her readers guessing who the bad guys are till the very end. Suspense and a slow burning love at it's finest, Kat has given us another great story to keep readers wanting more.

The first few books in this sister were a little lame. As the series continues, the stories have more plot and the characters have better chemistry. I enjoyed it.

This one was just okay. I have been enjoying the series, and this was a decent addition to it--just not as strong as some of the earlier books. Alex and Rina are both likable characters, and it was nice to see some of the characters from the other books again as well. This story just didn't knock my socks off, that's all. It was a decent read. Its only real flaws are that it felt as if it went on for far longer than it should have and there seemed like an excessive amount of repetition throughout--some elements were explained, and explained again. And then explained again later on. More than once. Neither of these aspects was really a problem; but combined they just didn't make for a gripping read. Some of the sense of urgency of the previous books was missing here. I'm still planning on going on with the series, though, hoping that the next one is a bit stronger.
