Aikido Text Book
If you wish to learn the art of Aikido and could only have one book; this would be it. It is effectively illustrated, better than photos. From history and theory, dojo etiquette and fundamental techniques of defense...all is covered. This book will give you broad overview of the mental and spiritual underpinnings of Aikido as a whole. Must have this book in every library.

This is one of the most informative and pratical books on Aikido there is, in my opinion. The drawings are superbly done and you could learn from just looking at them. This is a book on the Science of Aikido from movement theories to illustrations of a very large number of techniques. I was really impressed with how professional and scientific the authors manage to present and explain Aikido. Too many books on Aikido are in my opinion flimsy 'new age' products where they resort to mysticism to explain concepts they lack any knowlegde and experience of. But not this book, this one stands out like a pillar of rationality among those pretenders. This is a very robust piece of work with a very large amount of information, any practitioner of Aikido would enjoy reading this book, from beginner to experienced practitioners.
