Fun, Cute, VERY Short Read - Good for Kids

This very short (4 pages) tale is more of a "cute" story than a "scary" one. Pete is taking a shortcut through the woods from Stevie's house, because he's already late getting home. He's almost 12 years old, so he isn't concerned with the story 10-year-old Stevie told him, about a spaceship landing in the woods 2 days before. But it is very dark along the path, and he does hear some noises, so he starts to run, but suddenly finds himself on the sidewalk. He also notices the moon seems to have moved quite a bit from where it was a few moments ago when he entered the woods. He turns back to the woods, and states "ain't no aliens in those woods" as he scratches at the bump on the back of his neck, which is humming. Unsaid is the obvious point that he had been temporarily detained by aliens, who implanted something in his neck, then wiped clean all memory of the event. I just spoiled the whole story for you, but it really is more suitable for kids, so I recommend that you go ahead and get it, just so your kids can read it. They'll enjoy it.

Reminds me of something all kids experience once walking home in the dark. Cute story. Just really short.

Only four page short-short. Perfect for 8 to 10 yr old boys

I don't mind reading someones three and a half page short but I wish they would let people know that's what it is ahead of time. It is a cute little pre-teen short. Decently edited so you can pay attention to the story and not stumble over typos and bad grammar. I think it is a nice little short that would be good to encourage reading in young boys. If the author put out a handfull of little related shorts like this I think he could develop a following among the young boys who like a little shiver of excitement.
