    Proof of Angels

I remember watching this movie when I was around 10 years old, and it was so moving and touching I had to read the book. It was difficult to read, as I could relate to being around Alex's age at that time. This book was even more moving the second time around, and not only did I cry but my boyfriend cried as well. I only wish that I could have been blessed with knowing this little girl personally. After reading this book again, now at age 25, I could only hope to be the kind of person Alex was and always will be.

    Outstanding

Although I am but only 14 years of age. I was deeply moved by this book. I cried after the first chapter. This book has inspired me deeply. At first my dream was to become a neurosurgeon but after reading this book, I now want to become a terminal disease technician, in which my first goal (if not already achieved by someone else) will be to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis and other genetic diseases.

    An Extraordinary Child

I read this book when I was 15 and was so profoundly moved by this extraordinary little girl that I vowed to one day name my own child Alexandra (Alex) in her honor. My own beautiful -and thank God- healthy daughter is about to celebrate her first birthday, and when she gets older, I will share Alex's inspirational and heart-wrenching story with her. I'm sure she will be proud to be named after such a remarkable child.

    I Really Enjoyed the Book

I remember seeing the movie when I was in second grade. I cried when I saw it. When I first picked up the book, I also cried. Alex was an inspiring child. She never let her disease control her.

    A book I'll never forget.

I saw this movie in 1986 when I was only five years old. My mother made sure I watched it when it aired on Television because my cousin, Scott had Cystic Fibrosis. As a five year old she had no idea how to explain it to me, but the movie said everything. This year (Nov 2000), I gave a speech about Cystic Fibrosis to my college class. I remembered seeing the video when I was five, and decided to check out the book from the library. The book is 100 times better than the movie, and I thought the movie was good. Let me tell you, if you want to read this book make sure you have tons of tissues handy, because you will not be able to keep from crying. The book is even more memorable than the movie, I will never forget this story.

Frank Ellis 23 years old college student

This was a very heartfelt story of a brave little girl and the struggle she had with cystic fibrosis. Frank Deford has always been well known as a sports writer. But it took alot to write about his daughter. I hope you all read this book and realize that families do stick together when tragedy happens. :)

    Alex's tale is heartfelt, inspiring

I was in high school when I first read Alex: Life of a Child. This beautiful little book earned a permanent place in my consciousness. Alex embodies a shining example of humanity. Though her fate is unfortunate and the book heartbreaking, the abundance of love in Alex is an inspiration. It is also an important book because it details the daily struggles of living with Cystic Fibrosis, a disease which many may know nothing about.

Alex, A Girl I Wish I Had Known

My name is Tiffany. My son has cystic fibrosis. He is almost 4 years old. I loved this book mostly because it made me realize alot of the things Jonathan has gone through, Alex had gone through too. I fell in love with her and her strenght. I don't think this book will prepare me for what I have ahead of me with Jonathan, but it definitly informed me. There were so many time I wanted to laugh and then other times I wanted to cry. Even though Alex was in pain alot of the time, she seemed more concerned for her parents and brother. I feel for the parents, because I know the position they were in. After all, no parent ever thinks they are going to lose their child. I highly recommend this book!!!!!
