Great research job; fascinating reading
'Alias Paine' proves once again that the story of the Lincoln assassination (a much darker and far more involved story than many people realize) has lost none of its power to grip the attention; I found it as compulsive a read as any fictional tale of espionage. A thorough exploration of the fascinating and enigmatic character of Lewis Paine/Powell is long overdue, and the author's research job can hardly be praised highly enough. I spotted just one suprising error (probably not the author's fault): the gallows photo on the bottom of page 146 is 'flopped' (printed in reverse). Nevertheless, to anyone interested in the Lincoln conspiracy I'd rate 'Alias Paine' as a must-have! - Peter W. Many, Jr.
