    Perfect shower gift!

There is nothing pompous about Alton Brown. The book is jammed full of practical advice without resorting to specialized equipment that only a high end chef would ever have or use.

This book would be an excellent present for any new bride or someone setting up a kitchen for the first time. It would be ideal attached to one of the items mentioned in the book to make an even better present. I love his 'no-nonsense' way of explaining each and every item along with uses.

For the experienced person, it is still a fun read and practical. I used his method of cleaning out my over-filled drawers and now have everything I need and can actually find them when needed.

I would recommend this book for anyone who loves cooking or wants to.

    Highly Recommend

This is a great resource for the beginning cook, but also for someone like myself who, after 25 years of marriage, has a renewed interest in cooking. This book helps you to understand that the right tools for the job makes the job (in this case, cooking) easier and more enjoyable.
