Stephanie’s tired of being a taffeta-wearing bridesmaid and Mike is burnt out on relationships thanks to his possibly-cheated-on-him ex-wife. Unfortunately for Stephanie, she’s about to be a bridesmaid again in her best friend’s quickie wedding, but at least she doesn’t have to wear the dreaded taffeta. Mike’s still surly when it comes to marriage, but has agreed to be Justin’s best man.
This had so much potential to be a great little romance, but instead it falls short and ends up only being cute. I felt that there were times that it was confused as to whether it wanted to be a contemporary romance or fall into erotica territory, changing its mind at the last moment. Also, there were a lot of times where the dialogue felt forced and uneasy.
Also, there was the nearly impossible timing of this book – they meet, then fall in lust, then love all in a week to two week’s time period. It just wasn’t overly believable to me. This wasn’t a bad book by any means, I just feel that there was room for character development to take place over a longer time period instead of the fast pace that it took.
