I have read this several times. I loved the whole series. All the charaters are well fleshed out. Lydia, the modern day Brianna, has gone through a messy divorce to a faithless husband. She has always been drawn to the highlands and a picture of Damron. Suddenly she finds herself transported to an earlier time. She finds herself married by proxy to Laird Damron. The story is great, she can't believe that the man who's picture shes so drawn to is such a domineering neanderthal. They definately have their battles. I laughed when he would be offended by her use of words he had never heard . He tried hard to get her to be a submissive and demure wife, to my delight she did not give up her feisty ways for him. Very enjoyable book, great love blooms between these two.

    an insite to the story

When first starting the book you have very few uderstandings of the book. All you know is thatLydia hunter has some how managed to go back in time now whaether it is form the bump on her head or something is is undistiguishable. You know she has once been married and she lives in our time scotland. After hitting her head it is hard to tell if what she understands is really there or if she just has a major concussion. When first meeting Damron or Demon you would think that he is trying to kidnap her by the way he first starts their conversation. Later you learn that he is Lydia's or Brianna's fiance/ betrothed.Traveling back in time lydia is confused and angry at those around her for accusing her of going mad. When she starts to get too know demon she seems to get more and more attracted to him.
