From the back cover: From the siege of the Alamo to the battlefield of San Jacinto, this epic story of Texas's struggle for independence shows that freedom and love are always worth fighting for.
Rosa Carter plans for the day she can leave the Alamo to find a better, safer life elsewhere. But her stepfather, a man with a mean streak wide as the Texas sky, has hidden her mother away in order to force Rosa to deliver valuable information about the Alamo's garrison and ammunitions stores. Chances of escape look impossible.
Miles Fitch wants to regain his father's land in south Texas, so he joins the fight for freedom from Mexico. Inside the Alamo, he is drawn to a dark-eyed beauty named Rosa...until he begins to suspect that she is betraying the cause of the Texans and feeding information to the Mexican army.
Forced to leave the mission, Rosa watches helplessly as Santa Ana's army closes in. Did the man she love somehow escape or survive the battle? And if he did, how will she ever prove to him that she is not a traitor?
Any story about the Alamo is going to be highly emotional due to the tragedy involved. All the defenders of this mission are going to die defending it against a vastly superior force. That is history. Now Ms. Mowery has given us a story that belongs up there with the terrific movies that have come before. Rosa and Miles are emotionally wounded individuals and these wounds make it difficult for them to fully embrace the love blooming between them. It is going to take God to heal them and really bring them together. These are wonderful characters that live and breathe on the pages and you don't want to see anyone die. Ms. Mowery makes the heroes of the Alamo, Travis, Bowie and Crockett as well as Houston seem so real that it makes the tragedy all the more painful. Be forewarned this book will tear at your heartstrings but it will be all worth it. Danger, thrills and romance "Always Remembered" has it all. This book does not disappoint in any area. I enjoyed it and I am sure you will also.
