Bestselling author Brandilyn Collins teams up with her daughter to produce this suspenseful whodunit series. Written in first person narrative from the perspective of Shaley, a sixteen-year-old, this teen story keeps the readers interest. The killer's thoughts, written in third person and interspersed throughout the story, have a chilling effect.

A typical teen, Shaley's BFF, Brittany, has an intuitive ability to know the future. Unfortunately, this reader does not have that ability. The novel is well written. The characters are believable, but the story stops just in time for the next book to begin. I understand that this is a series, but I feel gypped when left with a cliff-hanger.Show Less

Snooozefest. There is a reason this was free.

Okay, I tried reading it again (based upon the good reviews here on B&N). I stand by my first opinion. This is a terribly written story. The writing is choppy, and the author somehow used too many words and not enough words at the same time. Example: "I still felt lightheaded. I really needed something substantial to eat, but nothing was available at the hotel at that hour. And our room's pay-as-you-eat bar with cookies and chips held no interest for me. My body craved protein."

Seriously? Substantial to eat? Really? What teenager speaks like this?Show Less

Always Watching by: Brandilyn Collins & Amberly Collins

Life is far from boring for young Shaley O'Connor, traveling with her mother's tour. The Rayne Tour is going strong, the excitement of the fans lending energy to the beautiful Rayne. But life is going to get busy with danger lurking in the wings.

Who is watching? Why are they watching? And who exactly are they watching, Rayne or Shaley? Can the tour continue? Will Brittany be frightened away by the upheaval? Will Brittany's mom let her continue the tour with Shaley?

Action fills the pages of Brandilyn & Amberly's newest book. You'll anxiously hold your breath as you read scenes filled with suspense. Questions arise that must find an answer before you can move on. I couldn't put this book down for wanting to know who caused the danger that surrounded the members of the Rayne Tour. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

    Really great book!

I found this book very intense and very suspenseful. It kept me wondering through the whole book who the real killer was and had me completely fooled at the end.I suspected one and then another and too have a person that you not once expected to be the killer turn out to be the killer, was very surprising to the say the least. This book constantly had me wanting more and kept me reading with only bathroom breaks.I loved this book and i can't even really express how much.it truly was amazing!I am looking forward to reading the second one and will do so a.s.a.p!The authors of this book are truly talented and amazing to say the least.I will be looking up all of their books for more suspenseful mysteries.I was not at all disappointed with this book.To end this, all i have left to say is WOW! Awesome job! :)

    Not Just For Teens

Most of Brandilyn's books cannot be read by the BFHCC (Big Fat Honkin Chickin's Club) But this one co-written by her daughter is milder, but still full of suspense. I found it a page turner and could not turn out the light until I had read every last page.

At the end of the book I was a bit disappointed to be left hanging and I am eager to read the next book Last Breath. It was supposed to release in Sept so I will have to search for it.

I look for the family relationships in the books I read. And this one focused on a young woman who lives with a single mother. She yearns for knowledge about her father. This is what motivates her to act as she does throughout the story.

I have daughters, granddaughters and greats. Brandilyn and Amberly have developed a believable character in Shaley.

Amazing cover. Amazing characters. Amazing Story.

My almost eleven-year-old read the book in two nights, probably as fast as I did. She loved the suspense. Shaley is a really strong character. You get the feeling of what it would be like to have a celebrity mom and away from home for months at a time. The characters became friends. Going back and forth between Shaley and the murderer's perspective made interesting and fun. My daughter is so like me -- she loved trying to figure out who did it before the story reveals the murderer.

The pacing kept the pages turning and her light burning way too late at night. But she had to know what happened next.

A great suspense for young adult readers and adults who enjoy a page-turner and don't mind a ya protagonist.

    Great book

I really enjoyed reading this. The ending remined me of an Alfred Hitchcock movie! Kept my attention throughout. A real page turner.

    Overall a good read!

This was a great book! I was interested by the story, and it was suspenseful enough that I was able to read it in one sitting. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the ending was kind of a cliff hanger, and without buying the next book only part of the mystery is solved.

Always Watching constantly kept me on my toes. It was about a girl who's mom is a rock star on tour. Tragedy hits and her best friend is killed. It is up to her to find out who killed her best friend before someone else gets hurt. I never wanted to put the book down because there were so many questions that I wanted answered. I only gave the book four stars because at one point I felt like the book was a little boring. I was also disappointed that there was a second book because I did not realize that there was a second book till I finished reading it. I am planning on reading the rest of the books because I still have unanswered questions. I would recommend this book to my friends and family and I enjoyed reading the book.

    Hanger

This was a good read because it was free....don't read it if you don't want to have to buy the next book to see what happens. The book hooks you in and then leaves you high and dry at the end...I felt the need to buy the second book only because I had invested my time to read the free one. You cannot read the first one without buying the second one because you don't get an ending in the first one it goes straight into the second one. If the second one had been free too I might have given the first a higher rating.

    Really Good

I really enjoyed this book. Once I got into the plot, I kept wanting more!! Since this is the first in a series, it would prompt me to read the follow up books also.
