WELL WORTH IT!

Exceptionally well-written. I found myself becoming attached to the characters, as though I were related to them and personally concerned with their well-being. The plot line was captivating, and the author's rich descriptions had me re-reading portions simply for the...
Exceptionally well-written. I found myself becoming attached to the characters, as though I were related to them and personally concerned with their well-being. The plot line was captivating, and the author's rich descriptions had me re-reading portions simply for the beauty contained in his descriptions. In my opinion, this book is well worth reading...

Fairly Captivating

I can appreciate where the author was taking the reader. The book gets unnecessarily bogged down in character descriptions - I couldn't tell if it was going to come into play later or not. Unfortunately, I didn't find that it did. Of course, I also don't really get the ...
I can appreciate where the author was taking the reader. The book gets unnecessarily bogged down in character descriptions - I couldn't tell if it was going to come into play later or not. Unfortunately, I didn't find that it did. Of course, I also don't really get the ending - the very ending, that is. Anyway, it's a good read, but I don't know that it warrants any more than three stars.

    An excellent read

I found this book hard to put down. Any book that immediately gets my attention and is hard to put down is a good book in my mind. I would agree that the character development was a little drawn out at times but I still found it interesting and a worthwhile read. I am not usually one for mysteries but the combination of historical fiction and mystery worked well in this book. I also found the ending to be quite good - a bit different than expected.

Highly recommended.
