Who are the REAL American Idiots?

Green Day is in my opinion, my favorite band. I've grown up to the catchy, fast-paced tunes since I was like 10 and have always enjoyed every CD that they put out. I got a little skeptical about everything after Nimrod but hey bands mature over time so granted so does their sound. After hearing the new hit "American Idiot" come out over the radio, my skeptical point-of-view grew even more. As I listened to the CD, it became clear to me that the band that I have grown to love, has become nothing more than a radio-friendly, mainstream band. Granted, there's some life left in a couple of the tracks on it like Jesus of Suburbia, and St. Jimmy, which I kinda enjoyed, but honestly their full potential lies within all the albums from Nimrod and behind. This is what I hate about major-label companies. They completely destroy bands. People who create music should be able to write and play it anyway they desire, and to be corrupt on how to play it due to money just disappoints me. But its just my opinion. For me to see people who come into a music store and jump around saying American Idiot is the greatest album out by Green Day, it gives me the assumption that they have not experienced anything prior to that, or they are just flat out ignorant... and I personally laugh at that. But don't get me wrong. I am a die-hard fan and my suggestion is that if you wanna listen to it go right ahead. But for everyone who wants a true Green Day album to listen to, this album just may not cut it for you.

    sell-outs

Green Day is certainly talented. I like the music, but the fact that it's basically a political album makes me dislike the album. There's about 2 or 3 songs that don't deal with bashing the country or the president. There's nothing wrong with political music, but between all the Coldplay and U2 being played these days, I've had enough of it. Green Day needs to go back to singing about being a bum and doing drugs. They just simply sounded better then.

    America is full of idiots.

The album American Idiot is the return of Green Day with a new image and new songs. So far I don't like the way they now look like. The only image I like is Mike's image, because they look like 30 year old men trying to be cool. There is 13 songs in this album, I like some of them while the others are just OK. Some of their songs have been played too much on the radio like American Idiot, the Broken Dream song, and Holiday. I find that upsetting because I sort of like Green Day. I sort of recommend this album.

Why was this Album so big

I am no music expert but if you ask me this was Green days worst Cd. The Cd is mostly a downer unlike Warning and Dookie. I say if you are a old fan of green day buy this, but if you are a new fan don't. Instead get Warning or Dookie you will like those better.

    it is... alright

i really enjoyed most of green day's cd's, except recently, they have been acting extremely sell-outish. this album is pretty good, but i dont like the way the songs go together, and the single "american idiot" becomes really annoying after a few listens.

    A Shame For Green Day

After being a Green Day fan for a while I heard there new song on the radio American Idoit, it rocked. After buying the CD the day it came out I am sorry to say but it as less then I thought it to be. I thought that the whole cd was going to be great, I guess I was wrong. The Cd is okay but I feel there other albums are better. I would still recomend buying it but don't run to the store so fast.
