read this book in one day. I could not put it down. In this time of religious confusion, I can see this happening. People want to grab onto anything.

A get rich scheme gone wrong. It seemed like such a simple plan. Start the American Idol business and sell idols for anything imaginable. What Gus and Desmond don't ever see coming is a full blown upheaval. Money changes people, and these two are no different. When their company takes off, they assume crazy names, wear outrageous clothing out in public, and tick people off on purpose just to bring more hype to their idols. Death threats are not uncommon. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
The book description does a great job of summarizing the plot so I won't go into all of that. I really did enjoy this novel. It had a good pace, caught me off guard with things I didn't see coming, and had moments that had me laughing out loud. The grammatical errors need to be cleaned up but overall S.C. Hayden did a great job, taking on a mix of eggshell topics all at once!
American Idol is not for those who get offended easily. The very basis of religion is snubbed, not to mention the sex and curse words. If you can remember that it is a work of fiction you will really enjoy this read. Just give it a try, I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

Three words for this book: outrageous, straight-forward and bold!
So did I enjoy the book? Yes, but at the same time I had quite difficult time trying to understand what the author tried to convey through his story. Maybe the book was a bit, or rather, too aggravating for me with its outrageousness, straight-forwardness and boldness since I was, honestly speaking, born and raised in a conservative environment. Simply put, I didn't expect all that 'craziness' at all. Was that a bad thing? No, because the littlest good thing that I learned from this story was being open-minded never hurts at all.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
