Title says it All: Classic Quilts and How to Make Them
A great reference book for quilters whatever their skill level. Beautiful photographs of various quilts with instructions that make the various techniques easy to understand. Quilts shown are from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with patterns and glorious photos. Each photo of an antique quilt identifies it by name and probable timeframe. Different types of quilting, from applique, ninepatch, Irish chain, and crazy quilts to triangles, stars and curved blocks are included. There's even a chapter on caring for older quilts. For each chapter on these various quilt types, there is a project for the reader to complete if so desired. The chapter on Triangles is especially appealing, since there are so many variations with so many different design outcomes. I've already begun a hand applique wall hanging from the "Millie's Quilt" (circa 1920) chapter. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
