AMETHYST BOUND by L. Shannon is an amazing paranormal set in today's time in Las Paz, and the Mexican coast. It is well written with depth and details. It is fast paced, page turner with adventure, sensuality, romance, love, werewolves, vampires, dragons, good, evil, magic, and mystical ancient prophecy. The characters are strong, well developed, sexy, and easy to follow and fall in love with. They will pull you into the story. The heroine, Toni, is a thief, a loner, been hurt often, has magical blending powers ( she can appear invisible or blend into her surroundings), is strong willed and independent and a survivor. The hero, Ben, is an archaeologist, sexy, a professor, also strong willed and devoted the past eight years to the discovery and exploration of dragons. Together with a dragon, Amethyst, they are bound by a pendant, Toni was hired to steal, that holds the mystical dragon, Amethyst. What happens is action packed adventure, drama, and trying to survive long enough to figure out what the prophecy is all about. This is a must read and is sure to be a keeper. The ending will leave you wanting more and holding your breath for hopefully the next installment. You will want to know more about their adventure as they learn together how to deal with Toni and Amethyst's intertwined dragon power. Of course, Ben is along for the ride, he is bound to them due to being marked by Amethyst, but he has also fallen in love with Toni and she with him. This is a short, well written, kick butt adventure. This book was received for review from Net Galley and details can be found at Carina Press and My Book Addiction and More.
