This is supposed to be a review of the book (anonymous and Maggiepoo), not a place for you to air your own personal opinions about people who have had issues with addictions. I myself, as a recovering addict, gained much respect for Mitch Winehouse through the story he told and the manner in which he told it. For those who would suggest that people who stuggle with addictions simply need to "wake up, and realize the heartaches they cause their families" I would recommend that you actually read the book before commenting. Amy's story is a compelling story, told by someone who obviously cared for her very much. She was an incredible talent and her loss was very tragic in many ways. This book seeks to turn her loss into something positive. Mitch Winehouse is not making any money from this book, all proceeds go the the Amy Winehouse Foundation which was established to ". . . support or care for young people, especially those who are in need by reason of ill health, disability, ┬┐nancial disadvantage or addiction." In other words, so that people can be helped to "wake up, and realize the heartaches they cause their families". I would recommend this book for anyone who has ever dealt with addiction, or who has had a friend or family member dealing with addiction, or who was simply a fan of Amy's music.
