There are some books that you read once and never pick up again, but this is not one of those books. This book is always within my reach. As an artist and a teacher this book is invaluable. It has not only served as inspiration for me as an artist and for my lesson plans but I have passed it along to friends and colleagues as well. Was this review helpful? The illustrations are amazing and I love being able to look inside other people's sketchbooks. The writing that accompanies each artist's sketchbook pages is also helpful and interesting. They describe their sketching habits and discipline, as well as give ideas for sketching.

As an artist this is one of only two books in my library that inspires me to keep creating art. Looking inside the sketchbooks of other artists is great encouragement to keep a sketch journal of your own.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Layers of inspiration
Finding this book was a happy accident. As someone with a creative spirit, my intimidation of sketching has kept me from attempting new avenues of art. This book has given me the courage to find my own style. It beautifully illustrates many artists and their personal styles, ranging from elaborate watercolors to penciled lists. It can be read cover to cover for personal narratives, or browsed through and admired. A book of this execution, I would have assumed, costs double what it does. If you can find it, buy it immediately. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
