Good

Around 550 pages. Great length for a free read! This is a well written historical romance novel. The first in a series. Makes me want to purchase the other books from this author!

Yawn....

5 chapters... About wanting to bed someone... Sad when you find yourself skipping pages and finally giving up. Similar to the duchess of love by other author. Well, at least that one was short and funny. Sorry :(

Too modern for a historical romance story,

The story is too modern and isn't credible enough to enjoy wholeheartedly even though the plot is decent. The characters' speeches are too American, and again not believable.

Glad I didn't pay for it

The hero just wasn't very manly. And there just wasn't much of a story line. She went on and on about their feelings. I suppose that is what romance books are like. But I have definitely read much better. I will not be buying the rest of the series.

    Boring!!!!

The only reason i gave this book two stars is because of Gideon the hero of the story and the kids. Any woman would love to have a man like him. I had to force myself to read this book. I Do NOT RECOMMEND this book.

    Poorly written, 557 pages

Not totally unreadable, just better than nothing. Everyone is SO perfectly PC, SO perfect in EVERYTHING and his ego is beyond belief. It lets up as the story goes along, but just too . . . lacking in anything that comes across as NORMAL. In ANYTHING. Way too cloying. Not interested in reading anything else by this author.

    HOHUM READ

SINCE I READ 12-15 BOOKS PER MONTH I WAS IN NEED OF NEW AUTHORS. THIS IS NOT ONE I WILL WAIT DILIGENTLY FOR HER NEXT BOOK. TAKE OUT THE FEW ROMANTIC READINGS AND YOU HAVE A 3RD GRADE PRIMER. PERHAPS MS. BLAIR WILL IMPROVE WITH TIME BUT HER FIRST NOVEL CERTAINLY IS NOT A KEEPER. STORY IS IMPLAUSIBLE-CHILDREN ARE USUALLY BORING IN A HISTORICAL ROMANCE AND THIS IS SO HERE TOO.
