This is Chantel Lysette's second published book, and I eagerly awaited reading it after practically devouring her first book (Azrael Loves Chocolate). I must admit, this author did not disappoint me! She returns with the same delightful, witty humor and deep spiritual insights into the world of Heaven's finest helpers. This book lives up to its name -- it IS an interactive guide, which translates to mean that this is a workbook. (Emphasis on the work.) However, Lysette intends to help the reader establish deeper and more communicative connections with the Archangels that have always been with us. For many individuals, communication with the Divine has typically felt like a one-way street, but through the many meditations and activities that the author outlines in her book, the reader may begin to pick up on the subtle cues that angels give us. Lysette poses the question: "When angels whisper, do you listen?" Her main purpose in this book is not only to teach the reader how to listen, but also how to see, feel, and know what our Angelic companions are up to. Chantel Lysette continues to be a refreshing, new voice in a genre that has at times taken itself too seriously. That's not to say she is in any way irreverent...quite the opposite. However, she points out that the angels are spiritual companions and helpers that are here to guide and assist us along our life paths, and if they can make our journey a little more enjoyable along the way...they're more than happy to do so. Though this book will require effort (it is by no means a coffee table decoration), the exercises do in fact help readers to explore deeper within their own souls and establish real, meaningful connections with the Archangels. For those who have read "Azrael Loves Chocolate", you'll be delighted to know that while the original 12 Archangels are also covered in "The Angel Code", their profiles are more extensive and there are four new angels introduced: Ariel, Haniel, Raziel, and Zadkiel. Whether you're a novice at connecting with the world of spirit, or a veteran of connecting, channeling, and communicating, you'll find this book both delightful and informative. With two fabulous wins under her belt, I can't wait to see what Lysette is cooking up next!
