    Peak Performance!

Sean Riordan, Luke's younger brother, comes to Virgin River for a visit and one night when he steps out to a neighboring town for a little action, he runs into his former lover, Franci Duncan. To say her response was cool is an understatement. Their breakup was pretty bad and she hid her pregnancy from him. Now, four years later, Franci has to prepare to reveal that secret and deal with the fallout from her deception.

I loved this story. Sean is what you'd call "breezy," not really someone who has even thought about being in a committed relationship, which is why Franci walked and hid the pregnancy. What made the story interesting was the evolution of Sean from an irresponsible playboy to someone who truly wants to step up as a father and win Franci back. There are some great moments involving their precocious daughter, Rosie, who is a riot. We also see the beginning of a wonderful storyline involving Maureen Riordan, the brothers' mother, and a romantic interest.

This is one of my favorites of the series. It's well written with great dialogue and the family dynamics are classic. I was sorry to see this one end.

A great trip back to Virgin River!

Ahhhh, back to Virgin River, my favourite little make believe town written by one of my favourite authors. I always come back from my literary forays there refreshed and feeling like I've just been reunited with old friends and family.

However much I love the series I was a little worried that I wouldn't love it as much as I loved the preceding book Forbidden Falls because that one was one of my favourites in the series. But, I was delighted when I started reading Sean and Franci's story.

This one had the usual emotional turmoil that starts out Robyn Carr's books but was also laced wit the usual sexual tension. Many people would say that her books follow a predictable pattern and to a point they may be correct but each and every story is different.

I really enjoyed this trip to Virgin River because it was my first trip back there since Christmas of when I read A Virgin River Christmas and let me tell you it was a long over due trip. I really, really liked Sean and Franci because even though they had a lot of hurt feelings and both felt betrayed you could tell right off the bat that there was still a lot of love for each other on both sides and most importantly they share a great love for their daughter Rosie who brings them back together, reminding them that even though they can fight like cats and dogs that they need each other and Robyn wrote their whole romance out perfectly.

What I love most about the series is that you get a chance to see past characters from the previous books so it's not as if you never see your favourite couples again which is what I think makes the series in my opinion so successful. This book didn't disappoint in that aspect because I got to See quiet a few old faces and caught up on the happenings and their lives and I felt like I was coming home. This one made me laugh a lot and at the time that I was reading it I really needed one so I'm glad that Robyn Carr was there to cheer me up.

I highly recommend this series to everyone but I urge you to read them in order except for A Virgin River Christmas which doesn't *have* to be read as the fourth book because I didn't read it until the end of last year but the other books in the series should be read in sequential order. If you want to feel like you're going home and want to read a great contemporary romance series start this one now!

    The story

Normal tween Diana heads to school one morning. Little does she know, it will be anything but normal. At lunch, three masked gunmen enter the school. They hold Diana, her teacher Mr. Ross, and her best friend, Carmen hostage at gunpoint with a threat to shoot if anyone moves. Diana says " I dont take orders from humans like you." The leader of the men grabbing her wrist, says, " You will shut up or I will shoot you." Diana throws back her head and laughs saying "Do you really think you can hurt me with this baby grip of yours?" He rasies his gun and shoots her but the bullets have no effect. There is a brilliant flash of light, and where the Diana with jeans and a t-shirt was standing is Diana with leather armour and twin short swords at her side. Most shocking of all, is her huge black wings folded neatly accross her back. She opens her wings threateningly and howls at the men. Two of the men run away but the leader remains and screams " What is that thing?" Enraged, Diana turns on him and shrieks " Did you just call me a thing?" She grabs him by his shirts collar and jumps out the window. She says to him"You just got yourself a first class ticket to hell." He begs and pleads for his life and even though angry with him, Diana is not a killer. She changes back to human form and calls the police. They quickly arrest the blubbering man.Mr. Ross and Carmen are shocked by the spectacle and just stare at her. Diana explains she is an angel, doing God's work on earth. She explains it is unknown why she has black wings, not white or grey but she is the fastest and fiercest of the angels. Carmen says she is honored to be Diana's friend and Mr. Ross says she will always be Diana to him. Diana tells them to keep her and the events of that day secret so the government will not get involved. Diana and Carmen have dinner together at Carmen's house and have a good time. Carmen swears that Diana's angelic attributes will never be known to the world and they live happily for the rest of thier lives. Let me know what u think at angel result 2.

I have been reading this "virgin river" series and just finished this one. Absolutely my favorite so far (but they are all really good), Love Maureen Riordon. Favorite line after smacking Sean up side the head "What were you raised by a pack of wolves."
