This is a treasure for children of all ages!  Who wouldn't have

This is a treasure for children of all ages!  Who wouldn't have their heart warmed when "Terrible Teddy" finally becomes a Christmas
present for a boy as "terrible" as he, or rejoice over "The Goat Who Played Santa Claus"?  I'm so glad to see it back in hardcover.  My
children (in thier 30's) will be getting new copies this year from Santa!  Now if only someone would reissue "The Bumper Book"!

    My childhood favorite!

I, too, greatly enjoyed this in the 50's and then bought a paperback copy for my own children in the late 70's, who felt the same way about it (and still do). There are phrases from Ms. Jackson's stories and poems that become immediate triggers for happy memories, like 'Sing for Christmas, sing for snow!' from Snowshoe Rabbits. The same is true for Richard Scarry's pictures, like the goat filling all the stockings in the barn. Our dog-eared copy disappeared among the Christmas wrapping paper two years ago (either that, or I had a major 'senior moment' when putting it away after the holiday) and I'm thrilled to be able to replace it -- this time, one for each of us!

    A longstanding family tradition

I was thrilled to see this back in print. I also read it as a child in the 50's. I then bought the 1974 edition to read to my children. We read one story a day leading up to Christmas. I am now buying a copy to give to my son so he can carry on the tradition with his new daughter. If you have children, you really should have this book in your collection.

    A Christmas Treasure

I received this book as a child in the 1950's and have kept and re-read it ever since. My old copy has gold leaf enhancing the illustrations and a pop-up Santa in a chimney when you open the front cover. The stories are charming and heartwarming. Make reading it with a child you love a Christmas tradition.
