Really not that great

I read it as a high school student, and I re-read it as a high school teacher. It is a very bland and formulaic romance novel for young readers. It is a good read for youngsters with questions, but I don't think its destined to be a classic. It owes its popularity to the controversy surrounding it, rather than quality writing.

    Easy read.

I thought this was a very easy read. It pleasantly surprised me. Most teen lesbian novels are filled with drama and tragedy, but this one was very light heart-ed and fun to read. Enjoyable.

    A Must Read!

I felt that this book was great it. Discussed many thing which some teens go such as finding themselves and I like the fact that Annie and Liza accepted themselves and found out that they wasn't alone in the process of finding themselves.

    very cute story

i read this in one sitting! i couldn't put it down; not because of the superb writing style or themes that really got my mind working because it certainly didn't provide that. The story of the two high school seniors and their akwardly cute relationship was enthralling, and i had to see how the book ended. There are points that did make me think and envoked frustration, anger, sadness, and laughter. i definatly enjoyed it.

    A must read

Hi, I want to start out saying that i'm not gay or anything.I'm also a Christian. At first I didnt even know whether or not I should even read this book.I did end up reading it though. The more I read though, the more I found that I did really relate to the characters(especially Annie). It was a little weird for me but somehow it intriuged me until I had read the whole book.I still have to say that I feel that it is wrong to be gay, but I can now get a better understanding of how hard it must be to be gay and to be true to yourself, and especially that whole confused stage.I also must commend the author,it is definately a beautiful romantic must read book, that is also very imformative.I highly recommend it.

    Must Read

Considering the whole burning of the book annie on my mind I beleive that nancy garden should be given ten times more respect for being able to get through that and become succesful I believe that the book was great accept for some unrealistic situations. I believe that one day it should be made into a movie! I know i would definately go and see it. This book has helped countless number of teens including myself get a better understanding that we are not alone.
