    Good one!

I got this book because I planned a trip to the Antietam battleground and I wanted more information before I went. (Who wouldn't?) I also wanted to share the information with a friend who had little knowledge on the battle. This really helped us both understand a lot and it was incredible when we actually went on our trip to see the things before us. The book gave us vivid details on the battle and it was easy to understand. The information on the sunken road was perhaps my favorite section of the book. I imagined the troops huddled within the crevice, ready to seize their opportunity. When I walked along the road, my heart ached for the men who gave their lives that day. This book has an easy to use index and amazing pictures. Some are quite sad as they portray real scenarios of fallen soldiers. I took my ereader (with this book) to the Antietam Battleground and compared the pictures from then, with the here and now. The preservance of the battleground is remarkable and the some of the pictures were eerily identical.Whether you're planning a trip, want some historical knowledge or want to know more about this heart wrenching story, I suggest you read this one above any other Antietam books.

Highly recommended for the history buff

As an American, I feel it is my duty to know the facts throughout out our history and the Antietam Battle is one that certainly cannot be missed. This book recounts the day in which more men died than in any other American battle. You often hear vague details from the unbelievably tragic event, but this book was perfect in laying out the whole battle in an easy to understand way. I found that I could feel the history coming alive in my mind with the vivid detailing and remarkable accounts of that day. I was confounded by the scores of men, patriots and rebels, that parished on that field. When the sun set, over 22,000 men had either been killed or wounded . I recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about the Civil War, the Antietam Battle or just looking for a part of our history to learn from.

    Highly recommended

I wish I had read this before I visited Antietam several years ago. My visit would have been so much better. If I ever go again, I will certainly reread this ebook by Mr. Tilberg.
