    Archeology meets Quantum Physics

While it felt as thought the first half of Artifact was set-up, once the story gets going, it all fits into place. I enjoyed the mix of archeology and near future physics. It all seems plausible enough and is moved along by the mystery of the object found, international politics, and a sweet love story. There is interesting exposition, vivid description, action along the lines of a thriller, and character development, though some of the characters seemed a bit stereotypical. Overall, an enjoyable read with mystery and intrigue propelling the plot.

    Great story

I like the idea a lot, it is hard SF after all. The only thing i did not like is the way it comes out at the end and the connection to the Bull of Minos, somehow i was thinking something else not a bull, but then this is happening in Greece so.....! Benford is not my type of writter anyway, he is good but i am not, never been an action person, i like Dark, Synical, Morbid SF as well as all the classics.. One of my favorite short stories is 'The Eryx' cant get any darker....:O) great book for Action SF people
