HOT JUST FREAKIN' HOT!!!
I absolutely loved this book. Sean was such a loveable character, and Nicky was great, but stuck in his own misery, self induced misery, and couldn't see the forest for the trees, but I loved how they interacted with eachother, and how easy it was to fall in love with Sean. The easy way he just went with everything and surrendered himself to Nick, and went after what he wanted. It was great. I really hope to read many more books from this author. The sex was sizzling, and the I love you's were perfectly placed, and it was such a delight to read I'll likely reread it many times. Great love story.

it was fantastic
from all the books i've read this made me stay up all night until i finished it. The part when Obrien was willing to do anything until the case was solved, it got me by suprise and Valenti had all those chances to do what he wanted to do, and even Obrien was willing to, but over all it was a fantastic gay erotica novel. I give it a 5 stars.

Great book!
I thought this was a great book. The writing to the chemistry between the main characters was amazing! I found myself wanting to kick Valenti sporadically throughout the book.

A great read with lots of heat
The Assignment is a well written and believable story . Detectives Nicholas Valenti and Sean O'Brian are very likeable . When detective Sean O'Brian 's ego get him and his partner (lover?) in trouble on their latest undercover job, can his partner Nicholas Valenti ... Well you will just have to read the story to find out what happens and then take a long cold shower afterwards to recover.

Really, really good.
I am pleasantly surprised at how the author captured many authentic feelings that could plausibly happen in real life. This story parrallels a passion that two men can share. The plot is semi-elementary, but the author makes up for it by wonderfully capturing the emotions of both men. This book is a quick-read and a well-worth purchase. I look forward to reading more by this author!

love this book
the assignment is a love story between two men with a happy ending. is a steamy crazy love story that shows the things people do for love, and to be with that person. the story of two cops going under cover to find a drug dealer, but they have to go as a couple for me was a refresh story of a couple of guys finding their true self. i think you get for what your pay with this book, it keep me up for a long time.

Fabulous!
I'd heard a lot about this book in the past, and when I decided to do M/M Romance Month I knew this was one of the books I needed to read. I'm so glad I did; I loved it!

First of all - that cover - so hot! It made it very easy to picture these two sexy cops as I read the story.
The premise was simple - two straight cops going undercover at a gay resort to bust a drug ring, except one of the cops has been having sexual feelings for his partner. Nicholas Valenti is confused as to why he's been thinking about his partner, Sean O'Brian, in a possessive way, and he's sure taking this undercover assignment at the RamJack is a bad idea - what if Sean figures it out?
O'Brian is ready to take on the assignment, he's a touchy-feely guy already, always has been, and Valenti knows that trait will come in handy on this job. They meet with a friend of a friend for some "gay training" and Valenti likes it; he knows he's in soooo much trouble on this assignment.
Once they're at the resort, things start happening all at once - security notices them and they've got to be convincing. Things start to get out of hand and they're pushed into situations they wouldn't have otherwise have been in, setting off a chain of events that could ruin their friendship, and their careers.
My thoughts: Loved it! I liked Valenti and O'Brien - Valenti was so paranoid and O'Brien was so easy-going - they made a great pair. The "friends to lovers" and "gay for you" mixed with the "undercover cop/drug bust" story lines worked for me, and the sexy scenes were hot, but not excessive. A couple of times I thought "that wouldn't happen", but easily let it go to enjoy the rest of the book; I think it was mostly due to the length of the story that things had to hurry along a bit.
The Assignment would be a good read for both beginner and experienced readers of M/M Romance - I definitely recommend it!! -

Great Love Story!
I really, really loved this book and fell in love with the Nick & Sean. The story was hot and could so see the love that happens between these 2 guys. Lots of seduction going on. Would read this story again and glad it is my collection. Evangeline Anderson has written 3 more stories regarding these 2 characters and would love it if Barnes would carry them so that I can download them into my Nook. Would love to have the collection all together!

Highly Recommended
Both characters are well written. Story line is great but the police work was secondary not that I minded. I wish more straight men and homophobes would read books like these and get a feel for what it's like to have to come to terms with your feelings, especially the ones you don't want to have. I am a straight woman and I have enjoyed reading the M/M romance books as well as the m/f and m/f/m. I recommend this to one and all. I will be checking out Ms. Anderson's other books to be sure.

whew!
this one sneaks up on you and is sweet and sensitive and romantic yet still has enough of a hot edge to be sexy and thrilling; the characters are funny and and just as foolish as real people in love tend to be ( and just as stealthy)
