The Birth of Astro Boy
The book, Astro Boy, written by Osamu Tezuka, is about a young boy that tragically died and his father created him into a robot. The father of the Astro Boy sold him to a man who cared for him and sent him to school.
After school one day he found a dog that belonged to his teacher, Mr. Mustachio. One day, when Mr. Mustachio was driving with Pero in the car, a strange car followed them and started shooting at the car. Pero was taken from Mr. Mustachio and was brought to a lab where he was turned into a cyborg like some other dogs. He was called "#44".
#44 ended up becoming a leader in the squad called the Hot Dog Corps which sole purpose was to destroy anyone who tried to land on the moon. The cyborg Corps started to act like dogs (which was like their normal selves again). #44 decided to leave the Corps and go back to Mr. Mustachio. Mr. Mustachio tried to convince #44 of his past (that he was a dog). #44 eventually worked with Astro Boy to fight against the Hot Dog Corps. The plan didn't work out, though.
In the midst of fighting, #44 and Astro Boy found that there was an energy source on the moon created by diamonds. There was a monster robot that was protecting the diamonds. Astro Boy destroyed the monster that was threatening to destroy everyone and everything around him. During the fight, there was an explosion that caused the city to collapse on the ruler of the Hot Dog Corps, the doctor and everyone else in the Hot Dog Corps with the exception of #44. #44 and Astro Boy escaped the blast.
#44 became his normal self as "Pero" the dog, and Mr. Mustachio became the proud owner again. Astro Boy lived on to save the day in more adventures!
