    Fantastic

The books was fantastic, its entrancing and makes you not want to put it down. Its a compelling story about two people thrown together to destinys wits and ended up finding a love like no other. Susan wiggs captivated me with this noble i hope the following books will be even better. But trust me this book is worth it, youll fall in love with it.

    Highly recommended.

This is the first book of a trilogy and all three books are page turners....typical Susan Wiggs' great reading.

    Historical Romance

The story kept my interest. It was not predictable. It had a lot of romance in it. I enjoyed it.

A welcome updated 1994 Circle in the Water. Two interesting, driven main characters move the story along: Juliana Romanov and Stephen de Lacey.

Juliana, a 14-yr.old Romanov princess when a Boyar attack destroyed her home and family, has spent five years as part of a band of gypsies, eventually winding up in the England of Henry VIII. She has harbored dreams of avenging her family and her lost young love and will let nothing stop her from doing so. Widower Lord Stephen de Lacey, is a wealthy renaissance man who invents toys and other mechanical devices and a clever maze that conceals a dark secret. For years he has hidden his grief for the loss of his son and wife beneath an icy exterior that keeps the malicious land-hungry Henry and prospective brides at bay. Their paths cross when gypsy Juliana tries to steal Stephen's horse. An unlikely event leads to their "white" marriage, which is sorely strained by the strong pull between them. The grimy, louse-ridden Juliana cleans up gorgeous and adept at running a large household - obviously not a mere gypsy. She's smart, clever, and curious about that maze; Stephen is hard pressed not to succumb. Fun to read. Lots of good secondary characters, and an exciting satisfying climax that reveals all.
