A must read!

This book changed my life! It opened my eyes to what true love really is and helped me stop chasing after meaningless relationships. I've now refocused my life on what really matters and I value myself. I've stopped giving my heart out to guys that don't deserve it. I know what my true worth is, what I deserve, and what authentic beauty is... it all comes from God! I no longer waste precious time on silly things. Instead, I've rebuilt my lost relationship with Jesus. I've never been happier! I praise God for allowing this book into my hands.

This book is one of my favorite books. This book really encouraged me to choose how i live my life and how i let people see me as a person.
It taught me to be more aware of what im putting out ther for people to see. And it's teaches you on how you live your life. why you are so special, and why you shoudn't give yourself away.

Great book!

After reading 'When God Writes Your Love Story', this book was an amazing encouragement to me as a young single woman. If you like 'Captivating' by Stasi Eldredge, this one is a great companion in my opinion!

Pretty good

I thought this book was really good. However the term 'lily-white likeness' was used a bit much. Other than that though I thought it was really thought provoking and well written. A group of girls from my HS get together on Wed. mornings and we're reading through it. It's a great discussion book!

Authentic and beautiful!

Wow. I just finished reading Authentic Beauty¿but my pursuit of it has just begun. I bought it as soon as it came out, and read halfway through the book, knowing since it was by Leslie, it would be good. Even though I¿d read everything she¿d written previously, and thought I knew what she would say next, I found some wonderful concepts. But it didn¿t grab me, it didn¿t touch me¿it wasn¿t where I was at. Today, several weeks later, I finally picked up the book again, to read a few chapters before I fell asleep. Three hours later, I¿m still awake, and completely overwhelmed by how the Lord used Authentic Beauty to touch my heart tonight. I was feeling stressed by life, confused by a relationship, and distanced from my Lord, but now I am looking at everything through a completely different perspective: that of a girl who desires to purse authenticity, beauty, and intimacy in her life. I am relaxed about life¿excited about life! I am content at this point in the relationship, excited to see how God will work, yet holding it with open hands, knowing that I can trust Him to do the very best. And I am once again feeling the excitement of being close to my Lord, trusting Him with the moment-by-moment details of my life. I am going to fall asleep now, resting in Him. And begin tomorrow with Him¿not just representing Him! Thank you, Leslie, for such an uplifting book! It keeps a definite distinction between your relationship with Christ and with a man¿it doesn¿t have the ¿Jesus can be your boyfriend¿ idea that disturbs me¿but it makes it clear that only through intimacy with Christ can you enjoy true intimacy with your spouse. Authentic Beauty was inspiring, refreshing, and challenging to me¿I have underlined its passages, written in its margins, and I know I will re-read it, especially the last four chapters, many times, when I need that encouragement to continue on my quest for authentic beauty.
