Oh The Magic of the Season...

I have to say that this book brings back the magic of the season. It was very well written and definately a page turner. I was suppose to read it in 24 nights but cheated and did it in 5. I will read this every year just before the season gets going. 5 stars plus.

Really good for book club

I read this book for my book club's December meeting. I found the book to be well written. It was hard to get into but I enjoyed the historical fiction aspect of the book. I just wish that so much wasn't squished into the last 4-5 chapters...

    Good Young Adult's Book

My book club read this for our December read because we wanted something short and in keeping with the season. It was cute -- to a point -- but after a while it just seemed to go on and on and on when it should have gotten to the point and be done. The historic references were very interesting and we all enjoyed those. Of course, the author did take liberties with the main subjects of those historic periods. But that's what fiction does. All and all not a bad read. I and my fellow book club members really did enjoy how the novel explained all the myths surrounding Santa Claus -- from how he got the name Santa to how he makes it to all the houses around the world at one time (he doesn't) and supplies answers for parents to bestow upon their children's Santa queries at that time of year.
