Pete has spent the summers on Avalon since he was six. He becomes friends with another six year old named Andrew. Every summer they are the best of friends. Nothing can tear them apart. Until one night before Pete is ready to go back to the mainland with his family something happens. The boys discover that they may have feelings for each other. Twelve years later and what seems like a lifetime Pete wants to take his girlfriend Gina to Avalon for Christmas. Something he’s always wanted to do. He also can’t stop thinking about Andrew.

After discussing things with Gina she seems to be open to a relationship with not only Pete but also Andrew.

I loved this short story of friendship that spans time. If you are truly friends anything can be forgiven and gotten past. Sometimes you get surprised by others in your life being open to changes in the dynamics of the relationship. I loved how Ms. Richards, in such a short story (I know this is hard) developed three characters that were easy to identify with. Gina was so much in love with Pete that she accepted his past with an open way of thinking (which more people need to do) accepting Andrew as a new friend and potential part of their future together. The awkwardness of Pete and Andrew was well written as guys usually have a hard time letting each other know what they really feel in relationships.

I would love to have met Nana. She seemed like she was one special lady.

Ms. Richards wrote a great Christmas Eve story of friendship rekindled, along with some hot and steamy sex with two hunky guys and a hot girl. I recommend this for those who believe in true and lasting friendships with a twist.
