I Also Recommend:
Even better than The Crown Conspiracy
First let me say that I loved the first book: The Crown Conspiracy. It was a fast pace thrill ride with memorable characters and a twisty plot that kept me guessing up to the very end. It had come highly recommnded by a friend and it did not disappoint. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
So, I had pretty high expectations for Avempartha (Second book), but in the back of my head I had a nagging feeling because so often I've been disappointed with the second of anything (book or movie). Michael Sullivan did in Avempartha what I thought was not possible and surpassed an already exceptional book.
The two are much different. Crown is a fast fun romp and Avempartha is darker and provides more insight into the world and the characters but both are throughly enjoyable.
Sullivan's humor shines in both and the main characters Royce and Hadrian are quickly becoming individuals I want to know more about. Like the Crown Conspiracy I found Avempartha to be a complete story - but there is no doubts there are many ways the author can take the series and I'm waiting anxiously for the next installment.
