Simply Beautiful!
I laughed and cried and learned through this book. This is a book that will stay in my permanent collection. When I need a refresher course on life, I will pull this out and read the "Glass Half Full" again. I get to live a fantastic life in a fantastic place, and since reading this book I've been revived in that knowledge. In reading and putting into practice the lessons in Awakening Joy, I have reaffirmed the gratitude for life, and the joy I have found in using this book as my Lenten Discipline has made a real difference. Yes, I said Lenten. You don't have to be a Buddhist to GET this book. The words are not threatening to any faith, and are uplifting in ways the authors may have never imagined. I would recommend this book to any church, temple, mosque, or meeting hall, or to anyone who is seeking to refresh and renew their life. The Habits for Happiness are true to every person on earth, regardless of their culture or creed. The section on sustainable living gets to the heart of why our culture is so hard on the planet, yet the message of hope put forth in Awakening Joy is a much needed guide to awakening a more connected and wonderful life.

Recommended read for those who want to add more happiness to their lives - and who doesn't?
I found this book to be both inspiring and practical. Each chapter covers one step in a journey toward developing and sustaining more peace and joy in our lives. Each step is well presented and very concrete practices that we can incorporate into our daily lives are described with clarity.

The book is grounded in Buddhist philosophy but I am completely comfortable recommending it to anyone who has an interest in adding to their own sense of well-being and consequently to the well-being of us all. Written with warmth, humor and depth, this is a book that is fun to read and at the same time profound enough to potentially transform your life. -

This book will make you happier, it's a must read!
I can't say enough good things about this book! It is turning me into an optimistic person, and changing my life for the better. I'm slowly reading the book and doing the exercises suggested and my whole outlook is slowly changing from one of pessimism to one of optimism and joy. I'm going to reread the book once I'm finished because these are life changing, powerful words of wisdom! This book is so awesome, definitely recommended!
