"Back in the Day" is just delightful. Some of the directions are just for fun for most of us city folks, but others
like bread making are great! I wish I had had a copy when my children were little. Anyone delving into the 101 topics will find something of interest! Highly recommended.

    Not what I expected!!!

This book is more for a man or a young boy!!! I am not trying to be sexist I have read the first few chapters and its all about how to use weaponary. I am going to continue to read on however, because I may find something to interest me. The facts and writing style are good and if you like the topics I would reccommend purchase.

    What Fun

I don't know that I could use it on a desert island, but it would come in handy on a farm, in the woods, or 90 years ago, or for a dozen different scenarios...some things I already knew how to do (surprised the heck out of me!). It was a lot of fun to read.

    more from this reviewer

This book is a great conversation starter!

I got this book as a "pass along" gift for the guys in my family. My 80-year-old dad had it for a few weeks, passed it to one brother, who passed it along to another, and along to the grandsons and nieces and nephews. It has added a great deal to family conversations about the technological changes over the last 100 years and how common knowledge has changed from one generation to the next.

This is a book you won't read from cover to cover, but pick up off the table and read a few pages, and discuss for days after with friends and family. Fascinating information!
