Good introduction to East Asia
I have never been to East Asia but that area has always fascinated me. When the opportunity came up to review this book I was delighted, and needless to say not disappointed. Jennifer L. Smith paints a true account of the daily lives of ordinary people as well as an explanation of the area, education, hospitalization, rice farming, and street vending. After reading this book I am understanding more of the occurrences that my pedicurist, an immigrant from Vietnam, experienced while living in her home country. Was this review helpful? In the 150 pages I felt I understood enough to do further research on the areas of more interest to me. I believe this book would be a perfect introduction for those that are considering a trip to East Asia because it will certainly give a better understanding of what to expect.
