    Great Business Concepts and Ideas

As a marketing person, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. So many times we are working on a project and wonder what we can do to make it effective. Oh, if I'd only had this book for those times! It is filled with the ideas and stories behind the world's most effective marketing campaigns.

    much-needed encouragement for small business

I'd love to think that hard work and quiet competence was the answer to sucess. Not so. Bang! is a quick read - and I found it a great inspiration for thinking about how to be heard without turning myself into a self-promoting pain in the bleep!

A good use of two hours of your time

I read this book in a couple of hours while car alarms were going off outside my window. Ironic, of course, given the subtitle.

The suggestions are helpful and excellent and memorable examples are provided. (I know it's lame to think I'd never thought of rehearsing a presentation in advance-- stupid, stupid-- but I didn't and the book woke me up by showing how it's important to be better prepared than everyone else and dare to do what the other lazy people are not.)

Don't be one of those lazy people... and it's cheap, too!

    I Also Recommend:

    Appropriate cover

I loved Bang!, and I don't even particularly have a message I want heard. If you want to blend in and quietly squeak by, this may not be the book for you (then again, even the perpetually shy would find it a fun read). There are good pointers here for how to stand out and make a fuss, but what I really liked was how my thinking as a whole had changed after reading it. It's not enough to step out of the box - you need to dance on top of it and sing! I also like how it's written, conversational but pointed. Like its subject matter, and the light bulb on the cover, the words practically explode off the page.

    Inspiring read

I'm the first person to say that I don't read much outside of what is required of me as a college student -- which in and of itself is a lot -- I picked-up this book at the library however after my Cornell career counselor recommended it. I've been so stressed out about figuring out my life and the career direction I want to go in. I didn't think a book could help me as much as this one did so I'm glad that the career department finally suggested something impact-full! Maybe I'm still riding high since I literally just finished this book but I feel completely inspired to start looking into an advertising career path.

    I Also Recommend:

A timely message for today's marketers.

This is one of the most intelligent and entertaining looks at effective marketing campaigns I have ever read, filled with expert advice and engaging anecdotes. For those of us in the marketing and advertising fields, we're all looking for new ways to get consumers to sit up and take notice. Even in today's dire marketplace, this book still holds true and its message has helped to shape my own approach to brand management since I first bought it in 2004. While times have certainly changed since then, the Bang! way of launching a product is, in my opinion, the most effective way to truly make an impact.
