Barbie turns 50!
This truly adorable book filled with tons of photographs is a fitting way to celebrate Barbie's 50th anniversary. I've never really been a Barbie girl myself, but I have to say this book is impressive. It chronicles the evolution of Barbie over the past 50 years _ the style changes (some of the more trendy Barbie outfits are seriously cringe-worthy), career changes, cultural changes, technological advances (talking Barbie!), and the additions to Barbie's friends and family (Ken, Skipper, etc.) It's a really fun look at all of the different versions and accessories. I had no idea that Ken had removable facial hair in the 1970's. Ken with a "suave" mustache and sideburns is hilarious! As a bonus, the book also includes several pull out replicas of memorabilia, such as designer sketches and your very own Barbie Fan Club membership card. Any Barbie fan will spend hours getting lost in this book while reminiscing.
