Thought the premise of this book was really interesting so I immediately purchased it. After having a mastectomy, Beth leaves the hustle and bustle of NYC for the quiet countryside. Very uncertain of her new body, she shuns male contact. Enter Ryan. Ryan charms her into flirting with him and giving into the attraction she feels for him, if only for a moment. Beth thinks nothing of it, until she realizes that Ryan is her law firms client and on her caseload. Sparks fly. Tensions mount. Yet, Beth continually pulls away at the mere hint of intimacy. Eventually, she braves telling Ryan her history. Enter my favorite part of the book. Ryan doesn't flippantly tell Beth everything is fine and it means nothing. He has to think about it... really think about it. I think it's an honestly refreshing reaction for a very real life problem. Gave it only 3 stars though because the idea and concept was much better than the execution. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
