Tammy Joe Trask is back for more trouble and more people / creatures trying to kill her. At the end of Would-Be Witch, Tammy Jo has finally came into powers, well... sort of, she was successful in giving her arch nemesis, Jenna, a hiccup hex. But after a week of uneventful days and night she received a letter from the World Association of Magic. Apparently our resident handsome wizard and lawyer Bryn Lyons was found at fault by siding and casting spells along side Tammy Jo and the authorities found her guilty and/or dangerous therefore has summoned her to do a challenge to basically defend her life. To make it look fair, they have sent in a British guy named Jonathan and a fire trigger happy, and her Aunt's ex-lover named Incendio to teach her. But is that really their purpose? To prepare for this training Tammy Joe decided to cast a spell and ask for earth's power only to unleash an armageddon. Thus slightly opening the door of the Never (faery world) unleashing hobgoblins, nasty changeling, horticulture horrors and pixie dust covering her town trapping them inside.

As usual Tammy Jo was running around town dodging murderous wizard, sleazebag neighbors and saving the day. I am so happy that Bryn and her are getting really close.There are a lot of significant situations in this book that will probably lead them into teaming up more. Aside from all the chaos they both discovered that they are half witch half something else. It explains a lot about why Tammy Jo's magic is all wonky and how her and Bryn survived a sure death scene. And at last... Zach has finally came in to terms that Tammy Jo's claim of magic, ghost and everything else. And he is about to make up for ever doubting her and thinking she's a bit crazy by going into training, so he could protect her more. I am seriously torn on who is the best man for Tammy Jo, they both have excellent qualities and infuriating flaws, it is hard to predict at this point on who is she going to end up with. This series is getting really exciting. I can't wait for Halfway Hexed! Umm... when is it coming out anyway?

Sexy, southern witch strikes again

In this charming installment of Kimberly Frost's Southern witch series, saucy Tammy Jo Trask only wants to get the family jewels back - well - into the family. With her brand-new witch powers, over which (speaking of witches), she doesn't wield any control, she'd gotten into a bit of trouble and temporarily pawned them. How the heck was she supposed to know the jewels held Trask family power?

Since she had proven yet again that she couldn't get this witch thing right, she certainly doesn't plan on pursuing a witch career. She just wants to live quietly, with her best friend, Mercutio. He's just a kitten, but ocelot kittens are pretty smart, and he's about the only man in her life she can really trust.

Unfortunately, the untrained magic she'd tossed around last week to save a few lives and get several walking dead back into the ground gets her into new trouble, this time with WAM, the World Association of Magic. A wizard "pretty enough to be in a boy band," with a "yummy English accent," and a hot-tempered (in every sense of the word) biker warlock show up in her Texas hometown of Duvall to train Tammy Jo for a dark and dangerous witch challenge. There's no turning them down either. Her other choices? Imprisonment or death. But Tammy Jo figures once WAM finds out her magic is broken, they'll let her off the hook.

As happens with Tammy, things get strange, and once again she must turn to sexy wizard Bryn Lyons for help. Because of some old family feud, Bryn is a no-no to Tammy. And now Bryn is double-trouble since WAM has ruled him off-limits to her, too. The two of them whipped up some pretty interesting magic together, and WAM doesn't want any more of it.

But when a curse leads to pixie dust being blown throughout the town, rendering the population - uh, let's just say - less than inhibited, and a crack forms between the worlds of human and faery, who cares what WAM wants? Tammy figures it's all her fault, and she's got to make it right - any way she can.

If that means using Bryn's power (and Tammy means to use it in the nicest way) to enhance her own, and enlisting the help of her sexy hunk of an ex-husband, Zach the cop - well - a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

Tammy's efforts to save the town send her into an outrageous, dangerous and difficult battle with powers of evil that are just downright mean. And when things heat up, it gets pretty hard to tell exactly who the good guys are. Will her southern grit, coupled with that hometown girl pure sweetness, get her through it?

Once again, Kimberly Frost's sassy and fun voice brings this exciting story to life on the page. It's just as scrumptious as those desserts that Tammy Jo likes to whip up. But when you sit down to read it, you won't be able to just nibble, because this one demands to go down in one delectable bite.

The sequel to WOULD-BE WITCH continues the magical misadventures of Tammy Jo

In Duvall, Texas WOULD BE WITCH Tammy Jo Trask wants her stolen locket back so she plans to take it from her enemy. However, Tammy Jo has a bigger problem than purloined jewelry. The World Association of Magic demands she defend herself for illegal use of magic. Two witches are assigned to prepare Tammy Jo for her defense under fire.

She has also been told to stay away from master mage Bryn Lyons, whom she is attracted to at a time her former spouse Deputy Sheriff Zach stays away from her having felt he wasted money on her when he got her a shrink whom she drove crazy. While all this is going on Tammy Jo accidentally sends impish fairies on Duvall; just another nasty stretch for a BARELY BEWITCHED novice.

The sequel to WOULD-BE WITCH continues the magical misadventures of Tammy Jo who is accused of practicing bewitching spells without a license. The amusing story line is fast-paced albeit a bit thin even with the heroine struggling with romance, magic, bureaucracy, family, and romance, which for this Texan means toil and trouble as she lands in the proverbial vat. Fans will enjoy the escapades of Tammy Jo in this jocular urban fantasy.

A MUST READ

The second book to The Southern Witch Series was a fun, laugh out loud ride! With sexy men and a smart, fun witch what more can you ask for!

Enjoyed this series

I enjoyed reading this series. Fun to read. Good mystery elements and enough character depth to keep you interested. Light reading.

Good Read

this book was pretty good the main charecter was sweet

interesting spin

I really enjoy the characters, even though I get frustrated by the main one. It really pulls you in and it is very easy to get into the book in general.
I would love to see more romatic involvement between the main characters, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.

Decent book to read

I've read Kimberly Frosts first book in this series and felt the same. It's a good read but doesn't seem to grow? She is a decent writer but definitely not a Sandra Brown or Nora Roberts.

I did enjoy reading the two books in this series and would suggest them also if you want a fun simple read. Still love the Cat Merc and still dont' know who I want her to be with. Kimberly makes both men great...

another winner

I was so anticipating this follow up to would be witch. I even shared the first book with my sisters and mother. I love the character of Tammy Jo and the places that she finds herself. I was excited to see where her romance with Bryn Lyons would lead. Halfway through the book I realized that everything was not going to be concluded in this installment. Which surprised me for some reason. I love the style of writing and the storyline kept me captivated. If you don't mind becoming pulled into another series this is fun. Not a hot and steamy romance, but a nice story that keeps your attention.

A very cute book!! I enjoyed reading Barely Bewitched--it's the second book in a seires. (The first book is Would-Be Witch.) A highly recommended series!!
