Beautiful book except red color runs!

I do love Michael Crichton and I looked forward to receiving it. About half way through the book I noticed that my fingers were red and saw that the red on the cover and back was running. A disappointment for sure.

First off, this is an extremely beautiful copy of both Jurassic

First off, this is an extremely beautiful copy of both Jurassic Park and The Lost World. The pages are significantly thinner than that of their original prints, which is perfectly acceptable since both novels were bound together.
Now onto the biggest problem: the red on the cover bleeds. BADLY.
It pains me to say I had to retire this copy to the shelves only after 2 weeks of having it. The red ink used on the cover can get loosened up if  you hold the book in your hand, or if you position it in your lap, and touching it will smear the ink all over the white leather and get all over your fingers. With this, I am extremely disappointed.
Other wise, if you're going to buy it to complete or expand your B&N Leatherbounds, or to buy it for your Jurassic Park collection, then by all means, do. Though, the only way I would suggest reading this is on a table without touching the covers.

Not as good as Jurassic Park.

This book is a bit slow and predictable. Maybe, having read Jurassic Park had gotten me prepared for those dinos living on Site B will be hungry and restless on Site B. I found the characters Arby and Levine to be enjoyable and amuzing. To bad they weren't included in the motion picture. It was nice to see Malcolm, resurrected from the dead, even though he died in Jurassic Park. He was alive and well and still, the cantankerous mathematician.

The Lost World is not near the brillance of Jurrassic Park, but still satisfies. If you like dinosaurs, science, or anything Crichton writes, you should find that this novel has something you will enjoy.
