Do you like suspenseful, action packed, survival memoirs?
Then you should read Captain Scott O¿Grady¿s memoir, called Basher 5-2. This memoir is about Captain Scott O¿Grady, a pilot of an f-16 jet that was shot down in 1995 in Bosnia. He survived only with a radio, a beacon with limited battery power, M9 Beretta handgun, a flashlight, and a thin camouflaged blanket to help keep him alive. It is an amazing, exciting, epic story, because not only he was alone in Bosnia and located really close to the enemy, but also without any radio connection. Also, he had no food, so he had to eat plants and natural foods that he found. During the night, he had to prevent his body from getting hypothermia, He used a camouflaged blanket to keep him warm, but that was difficult because his clothe were wet and the blanket was too thin. At the same time, he had to hide and avoid from getting too close to the enemy and getting caught. I recommend this memoir to readers who like intense, stories because this book really does include about eighty percent of the events that actually happened, in Bosnia. The book was very fascinating while I was reading it, I didn¿t want to stop until the pages ran out, because it was full of action and suspense. In addition, there are guides about the U.S. military Code of Conduct and neat tips to tell you about which plant is poisonous or which is not.

Better the second time
Read this book as a teen and now that I am an aviator myself, was able to re-read this again with a new appreciation. Well done, I felt like I was there with him every step of his ordeal.

THE REAL BEHIND ENEMY LINES
This book is not a screenplay or teleplay. This is the real deal. Capt. Scott O'Grady gives a first person account of what sacrifices and situations he went through while hiding in Bosnia. This is a great book if you're tired of the usual plot!

I Couldn't Put This Book Down!
Basher Five-two by Scott O¿Grady was a great story, I love the Air Force, so it was one of those books I couldn¿t put down, and I don¿t read that often. Scott was flying an F-16 while on a mission to keep peace in Bosnia. He parachuted five miles to the ground, and lived to tell the exciting way he stayed alive, eating ants and leaves, and hiding from Bosnian soldiers, I highly recommend this book if you like survival stories. Daniel A.

LIKE THE LOOKS OF THIS BUT TOO YOUNG FOR U?
I read this for my book report and enjoyed it but wasn't challenging enough. I soon stumbled across Return With Honor also written By Captain Scott O' Grady. It is a New York Times Best seller. It's about the same thing but for higher levels of reading. It's here on B&N. I look forward to reading it.
