Charm School with a Capital C!

Basic Black: Home Training For Modern Times and The NEW Basic Black are several books that I have a hard time keeping in my I hide the books now (laughing). These books have been swiped from me several times, as an interested eye attached to an interesting person sees a way to help said interested person become more intriguing.

I first came across Basic Black, Home Training for Modern Times in my hair dresser's home when going to sit for one of our 10-hour hair braiding sessions. We discussed introducing the book as the next book in our book club. The book was very popular and became a staple in the collections of every member.

    Why, you ask?

Bates and Hudson define what it is to be "good", classy and tactful, teaching etiquette for every situation. These books are a MUST for every person, but especially every WOMAN, who wants to be mindful off themselves and others. If you seek to improve yourself while respecting others, then this book is for you!

A must- have book in your home

I borrowed this book from a friend and I couldn't put it down. I will be buying a copy. This book covers everything black people need to know and then some. This is the perfect graduation, birthday and wedding present. It is written in a simple, easy to understand format. Even my white friends loved it and preferred it over Emily Post. It is sad though that they had to put in a chapter about 'how to handle yourself during a police stop'. I hope that they will make a book dealing primarily with weddings, because they are a lot of folks who definitely need to learn wedding etiquette.
